A "Gang" is not a group of criminal types as in the West...
Rather in Indonesia...a Gang is a small street, lane or alley way...that has houses, losmans and stores in it ...and is usually not accessible by autos... Most Gangs are only big enough for a motorbike and pedestrians... Many Gangs have small hotels or "Losmens" on them that are usually cheaper and not advertised on the Internet... In Bali...at Kuta...there is the Sorga Gang...which has many Losmens for the Kuta Surfers... In Jogja on Java...there is Gang I and Gang II...which also provide cheaper rooms and eateries...Both of these Gangs are near the RailWay Station in Jogja...but are used by all tourists not just those using the Trains...
