You may see a Balinese Flute being played in Bali... If you happen to buy one on your trip...?

The flute is played by blowing into the bamboo ring as it sits over the little square hole in the bottom of the flute... You do not blow into that hole...rather the bamboo ring acts as a kind of reed so that you blow into the small space between the ring and the body of the flute...thus producing a sound...
