Here's some input from the Lonely Planet board...(Click Title Link)... Air Asia looks safe enough to me...they fly Airbus equipment...and are the cheapest in the region...and I'm not really a nervous flier in any event...
So I'd take my chances with them....
I'm planning 6 weeks in South Asia later this year...with a lot of flying between major cities.
