Use early evening sky light...when the sky can still provide some "help"... Avoid excessive amounts of "black space"...by getting closer...and using the ambient lighting from your subject... Hold camera as steady as possible until the exposure is done... Always fill the frame...so as not to have too many void spaces which will come out as pure black...
