I could watch the black out roll across the city from a roof top restaurant on the Ghats...
Most street vendors...have candles, lanterns or small battery operated lights at the ready...because brown outs and short black outs are very common almost every night... And some hotels have large boxes of linked batteries on every floor to cover black outs... I assume the "better hotels" have generators ready to go on as needed... The fan or Aircon in your room will go off and on all night also...
