Perhaps.... But possibly modern travelers will have to travel with the same risks that earlier travelers had...
In the old days, there was always a chance of a "fever" a dysentary..or some fatal disease...Typhoid, Typhus...Malaria...
Some people made it... but some didn't...
It was alway a matter of luck and constitution....
Consider Wallace in Malaya...he had several bouts of Malaria...yet somehow survived...dosing himself with Quinine....
And Others...simply got sick and died...
Perhaps we are back to that old style of travel now...
The kind that has real risks involved...
Chances are I will go back to India...and take my chances...
Just like Wallace and Stanley and Darwin and all the others...
Sometimes you just need to be lucky...you can't live without it.
