Gamelan of Central Java available on Amazon...

The MP3 downloads on Amazon are cheaper than buying the albums or CDs many of which are out of print... There are several albums of Central Javanese Gamelan available...This Gamelan is much more subdued than the more energetic Gamelan of Bali...

On Amazon you can listen to part of the track...and buy tracks separately from the album...a huge benefit if you want to cherry pick each album...

Click the title link to get started with Javanese Gamelan....

Java...Malioboro Street at night

Java ~ Near Jogja ~ On the Road to the Dieng Plateau Temples

Java...Near Yogya

The road to the Dieng Plateau and the "Arjuna Group" of Temples is two lane asphalt...and goes through the "continuous villages" of Java...not unlike the neverending villages of Bali... As the road climbs less tropical crops like cabbages and tobacco are grown... Best way to get to the plateau is book a tour from Jogja...usually just a minivan...and since the Arjuna Temples are not as popular as Borobudur and Pranmadan...you may have to wait for enough people to sign up... They need at least two passengers to make the trip worthwhiled...
